Nigerian Billionaire b.uries his wife in a hummer jeep instead of using a c0ffin (Video)

In a move that has left many Nigerians stunned and social media buzzing, a wealthy Nigerian businessman has buried his late wife inside a brand-new Hummer SUV rather than a traditional coffin.

The unusual burial took place in a remote village in southeastern Nigeria, where friends, family members, and curious onlookers gathered to witness what many have described as one of the most extravagant funerals in recent history.

According to eyewitnesses, the billionaire—whose identity is yet to be officially confirmed—ordered a specially constructed grave wide and deep enough to accommodate the luxury vehicle. The Hummer H2, reportedly worth over ₦70 million, was slowly lowered into the ground using heavy-duty machinery while traditional mourners performed funeral rites.

A video circulating online shows the moment the gleaming black Hummer was carefully positioned into the grave as drummers played somber Igbo funeral music. The widow’s body was seen placed in the driver’s seat, dressed elegantly and adorned in gold jewelry.

While some locals praised the act as a powerful display of love and status, many Nigerians on social media expressed outrage and disbelief.

> “This is wasteful and disrespectful to those who are struggling to eat. All that money could’ve helped entire communities,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

> “To bury a loved one in a car instead of giving them a proper resting place shows how far we’ve gone in prioritizing wealth over meaning,” another said.

However, sources close to the family claim the billionaire had promised his wife during her lifetime that she would "never ride anything less than a Hummer, even in death." True to his word, he honored that vow to the very end.

This bizarre burial raises questions about wealth, grief, and how culture is evolving in the modern era. In a country where many still cannot afford basic necessities, displays of extreme opulence—even in mourning—continue to spark heated debates about values and priorities.
