 A jaw-dropping yet miraculous story is coming out of Lagos this morning, as doctors at a private hospital successfully delivered a baby and removed a massive fibroid from a woman during childbirth.


The unnamed mother, who had reportedly battled fibroid complications throughout her pregnancy, gave birth to a healthy baby while surgeons simultaneously removed what they described as a “rare and extremely large uterine fibroid.”


Photos shared online show the fibroid—almost the size of a newborn itself—laid beside the infant, leaving many Nigerians both shocked and inspired.
