Nigerian Man and his entire Family ddies after eating night food that wall gecko fell inside (Video)

In a heartbreaking turn of events that has sent shockwaves across social media, a Nigerian man and his entire family have reportedly died after eating their dinner — which was allegedly contaminated by a wall gecko.

๐Ÿ“The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning in a quiet neighborhood in Benin City, Edo State. According to eyewitnesses and neighbors, the family of five had prepared a local delicacy the previous night, unaware that danger lurked — quite literally — in their pot.

๐Ÿ” WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

A neighbor who pleaded anonymity recounted the terrifying discovery. “I had gone to check on them because I hadn’t seen the children come out to play like they usually do. I knocked and knocked. No response. That’s when I called the landlord and we broke in,” she said, visibly shaken.

What they found inside was chilling. All five family members — the man, his wife, and their three young children — were found unresponsive. Authorities were called in immediately, but it was too late. They were all confirmed dead.

๐Ÿฅฃ SUSPECTED CAUSE: A DEADLY WALL GECKO?

According to preliminary reports, investigators suspect that a wall gecko — a common house reptile in Nigeria — may have fallen into the family's pot of soup or stew overnight. Wall geckos are known to be poisonous if ingested, especially when their secretions mix with food.

A neighbor also shared a disturbing detail: “One of the children mentioned to a friend earlier that the stew tasted bitter, but they thought maybe it was burnt or something.” That was the last known statement from any of the victims before tragedy struck.

๐Ÿ“น SHOCKING VIDEO EMERGES

A now-viral video shared on social media shows paramedics wheeling out the lifeless bodies wrapped in white sheets, as neighbors wail in horror. The video has sparked widespread debate about food safety, and the dangers of leaving food uncovered at night — especially in areas where reptiles and pests are common.

๐Ÿšจ STAY SAFE: A WARNING TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD

Experts are now warning the public to take food hygiene seriously. Always cover your pots, especially after cooking. Wall geckos may look harmless, but their presence around food can be deadly.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Netizens React

The internet has exploded with reactions, with many expressing shock, sorrow, and disbelief:

> “This is too painful. Just one dinner and an entire family gone? God, protect us!”

“Please, always cover your food. May their souls rest in peace.”

“I’m never eating night food again, abeg.”

๐Ÿ™ Our thoughts are with the extended family and loved ones of the deceased. May their souls rest in peace — and may this tragic event serve as a sobering reminder to us all.
