A heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through a local community in Nigeria after a young woman tragically lost her life during a so-called “spiritual fertility session” at a church. According to eyewitnesses and initial reports, the woman, whose name has been withheld pending official identification, was allegedly instructed by her pastor to undergo a dangerous ritual aimed at helping her conceive.


Photos circulating online show a large church speaker—reportedly weighing over 50 kilograms—placed directly on the woman’s stomach. The pastor claimed that the weight of the speaker, combined with “anointed prayers and prophetic declarations,” would break any “spiritual blockage” preventing her from becoming pregnant.


Tragically, the woman is believed to have suffocated under the pressure, with no trained medical personnel on site to offer assistance or resuscitation. By the time emergency services were contacted, she had reportedly passed away.


Eyewitnesses describe scenes of panic and confusion in the church as the congregation realized the severity of the situation. One church member, speaking under anonymity, said, “We trusted him. He told us the speaker was symbolic, that it would crush the yoke of barrenness. Nobody thought it could kill someone.”


The pastor, whose identity is currently under investigation, has allegedly gone into hiding. Local authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, and there are growing calls for his arrest.
