Meet Chidinma Okoro, an inspiring entrepreneur and eco-designer who is redefining interior décor by transforming old car tyres into stunning centre tables.


From Trash to Treasure


What most people would consider junk, Chidinma sees as opportunity. Discarded car tyres, often found dumped in refuse sites and along roadsides, have become her canvas. With a flair for design and a passion for the environment, she breathes new life into these tyres—cleaning, reshaping, and decorating them into elegant, functional centrepieces perfect for homes, offices, and lounges.


Each table is carefully handcrafted, with custom touches that reflect her unique aesthetic—ranging from rope-wrapped finishes to glass tops and vibrant colors that brighten any space.


> “I wanted to create something that not only looked beautiful but also helped reduce waste in my community,” she says. “Every tyre I use is one less polluting the environment.”




A Business Born from Passion


Chidinma’s journey began during the lockdown, when she found herself with time, curiosity, and a strong desire to learn something new. With no formal background in design, she turned to YouTube and DIY blogs, experimenting with different styles and techniques until she developed her own signature look.


Today, what started as a hobby has grown into a thriving business. Her tables are in high demand—not just for their beauty, but also for their story. Each piece tells a tale of resilience, creativity, and eco-conscious living.


Empowering Others


But Chidinma isn’t stopping there. She now offers training workshops for other young Nigerians, especially women, teaching them how to repurpose waste materials into marketable products. Through this, she’s not just building a brand—she’s building a movement.

  A heartbreaking tragedy struck over the weekend as a Nigerian man, his wife, and their three children sadly lost their lives in a ghastly car accident while returning from a wedding ceremony. According to eyewitnesses and local authorities, the family was driving back home late Sunday evening when their vehicle veered off a narrow bridge and plunged into a river in the outskirts of Benue State. The victims had just attended the wedding of a close relative and were said to be in high spirits before the journey turned fatal.
