“Holy spirit Told me to wear it” - See The Nigerian Pastor Who Wears Ladies High Heels to church (Photos)

In a world where pastors are often known for sharp suits and polished shoes, one Nigerian clergyman is turning heads — and not for the usual reasons.

Pastor Elijah Simeon (popularly known as Prophet Firewalker), has stirred up serious conversation after photos surfaced online showing him rocking ladies’ high heels — not to a costume party, but right inside the church pulpit.

According to the pastor, who heads a growing congregation in Delta State, his unique fashion choice wasn’t just a publicity stunt. “The Holy Spirit told me to wear it,” he told curious followers during a Sunday service. “I don’t move unless God moves me.”

“It’s Not About Fashion, It’s About Obedience”

Dressed in a flowing white robe and glossy red stilettos, Pastor Elijah confidently declared that his heels were more than just a bold style statement — they were a prophetic act.

“Many people mocked Noah when he built the ark. They laughed at Jesus too,” he said. “But God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. These heels are a message to the stubborn — to walk in the spirit, even if it makes you look strange.”

The pastor’s photos have since gone viral on social media, with reactions pouring in from every corner of Nigeria. While some have criticized him, others believe his faith should not be judged by appearances.

Mixed Reactions from Nigerians

On X (formerly Twitter), the hashtag #PastorInHeels began trending just hours after the images went public.

One user wrote, “If God can speak through a donkey, who am I to question his footwear?” while another posted, “This one na real fashion evangelism. Make dem invite am for Lagos Fashion Week.”

Others, however, were not as amused.

“This is not ministry, it’s mockery,” a Facebook commenter said. “We need to stop using ‘Holy Spirit’ as an excuse for anything that pops into our heads.”

Standing His Ground

Despite the backlash, Pastor Elijah is unshaken.

“I didn’t come to please man,” he said during a livestream. “Next Sunday, I might wear even higher heels. Whatever God says, I’ll do it.”

Whether you see it as faith, fashion, or outright flamboyance, one thing is certain: Pastor Elijah has captured national attention — and his walk with God is quite literally on another level
