Happening Now: Nigerian Bride dressed in wedding gown leaves Her husband waiting in church to go sell meat for her customers in jos (watch) ‎ ‎

In a scene that could be mistaken for a Nollywood script, a determined Nigerian bride left guests speechless and her groom stunned when she abruptly left her wedding ceremony—in her full bridal gown—to attend to customers at her meat business in Jos, Plateau State.

The now-viral incident unfolded earlier today and has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with some hailing her as a “boss lady” while others question her priorities on what’s supposed to be the most important day of her life.

According to eyewitnesses, the bride, whose name is yet to be confirmed, received a call shortly after arriving at the church for the ceremony. After a brief conversation, she informed those around her that she had “urgent customer orders” to fulfill and couldn’t afford to lose business—even on her wedding day.

Without hesitation, she lifted her flowing white gown, grabbed her phone and purse, and made her way to her meat shop, leaving a stunned groom and bewildered congregation behind.

A viral video making rounds on social media captures the bride behind a counter at her shop, still in her wedding dress, cheerfully attending to customers and slicing meat like it’s just another day at work. Onlookers can be heard in the background laughing and expressing disbelief.

The groom, reportedly a Jos-based civil servant, waited patiently in the church for nearly an hour before she returned to continue the ceremony.

While many netizens found the episode hilarious and inspiring, highlighting the bride’s hustle and entrepreneurial spirit, others raised eyebrows about the timing of her actions.

"Na wa o, business first even on wedding day?" one X (formerly Twitter) user commented.

“Her man better know what he signed up for,” another joked.

But others came to her defense, saying she’s simply a hardworking woman who knows how to secure the bag—wedding or not.

One Facebook user commented, “This is what true hustle looks like. Marriage is one day, but business must go on. Respect!”

As the debate continues, one thing is clear: this bride just redefined what it means to be a modern Nigerian woman—driven, focused, and unapologetically about her money.
