Nigerian Lady Returns Back to her Boyfriend Who Ran M.a.d after when she broke up with him (Video)

In a story that has left many Nigerians emotional and reflective on the power of love — and heartbreak — a young Nigerian lady has returned to her ex-boyfriend who reportedly suffered a mental breakdown after she ended their relationship.

The emotional reunion, caught on video and now making waves across social media, shows the young man—disheveled, barefoot, and muttering incoherently—suddenly becoming calm and teary-eyed as he sees her. According to locals in the area, the man had been wandering the streets for weeks, talking to himself, sometimes shouting her name, and refusing help from anyone.

A Painful Goodbye That Broke a Heart

According to reports from close friends and family, the couple, known simply as Ada and Chuka, had been together for over three years. Their relationship, while passionate, had its fair share of ups and downs. One friend said Ada had grown tired of the pressure and instability, and made the difficult decision to walk away.

“She told us she couldn’t cope anymore,” the friend said. “She didn’t expect it to hit him that hard.”

But it did.

Neighbors noticed a change in Chuka just days after the breakup. He stopped going to work, stopped eating, and began isolating himself. Within a week, he had started speaking strangely, laughing to himself, and eventually wandered into the streets, clearly unwell.

Guilt and Redemption

In the now-viral video, Ada can be seen approaching Chuka as he sits by the roadside, dirt on his clothes and eyes wide with confusion. When she softly calls his name, his expression changes. He stares at her, unsure if she’s real or a figment of his shattered mind.

When she kneels before him, crying and saying, “I’m sorry… I didn’t know,” he begins to weep silently, finally holding her hand as onlookers watch in stunned silence.

Many online have called the moment heartbreaking, others called it a miracle. A few have criticized Ada for returning only after things got this bad, but most comments have expressed empathy, acknowledging how difficult matters of the heart can be.

Love or Responsibility?

Ada has since spoken briefly, saying she came back not out of pity, but because she realized she still loved him.

“I thought he’d move on, like most men do. But when I heard he hadn’t been the same, and then saw the videos, I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t know love could break someone like that.”

Health professionals say Chuka is now being taken to a private facility where he’ll be given proper psychiatric care. Ada has promised to stay by his side and help him through the healing process.

A Wake-Up Call for the Youth?

The story has sparked conversations about mental health, emotional pressure in relationships, and the often-ignored struggles men face after heartbreak.

As one Twitter user put it, “Let this be a reminder: heartbreak hits men too. Not everyone can handle it.”
