In a chilling turn of events, officers of the Rivers State Police Command have uncovered a shallow grave in the outskirts of Oyigbo where the decomposing bodies of three missing students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) were found.

The students, whose names are being withheld pending official family confirmation, had been declared missing two weeks ago after attending an off-campus party in Aluu community. According to reports, their last known location was traced through their phone signals before all contact was lost.

🔍 Police Investigation Breakthrough

Following days of intense investigation, local intelligence led police operatives to a dense forest area behind an abandoned poultry farm. Acting on a tip-off from a repentant gang member, officers conducted a search operation which led to the grim discovery.

Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident to press this morning:

> "After receiving actionable intelligence, our team conducted a coordinated raid. We recovered the remains of three young men believed to be victims of kidnapping and suspected ritual murder. Forensic analysis is underway, and we are pursuing leads to apprehend other suspects involved."

🕯️ Grief and Outrage in the University Community

News of the students' tragic end has sparked anger and sorrow among UNIPORT students and staff. A peaceful candlelight procession is being planned on campus, while the Student Union Government has called on state authorities to ensure justice is served swiftly.

"This is beyond heartbreaking. We sent our children to get an education, not to be buried in the forest," lamented one parent.
