A community in Delta State was thrown into deep mourning over the weekend following a heartbreaking tragedy that claimed the lives of a father and his two young sons — all buried in the same c.offin in an emotional ceremony that left everyone in tears.


According to reports, the man, identified as Mr. Emmanuel O., a local farmer and devoted family man, and his sons, aged 5 and 7, died in a ghastly accident that occurred on their way home from the farm.


Eyewitnesses say the motorcycle they were riding collided with a speeding truck along the Owhase-Udu Expressway. The impact was so severe that the man and his sons died on the spot, with passersby unable to hold back tears at the devastating sight.


Photos from the burial, which have since gone viral on social media, show the heart-wrenching moment the trio were laid to rest in a single, custom-made c.offin — a symbol of their unbreakable bond in life and in death.


Family members, friends, and sympathizers gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects. The air was filled with sorrow as the mother of the children, who survived only because she had stayed back at home that day, was inconsolable.


“They were everything to me,” she wept, holding a framed photo of her husband and boys. “How do I live with this pain?”


Locals have called on the state government to install more speed bumps and ensure truck drivers follow safety regulations, noting that the area has seen several similar accidents in recent months.
